If you haven’t read any of my previous content or met me in person, I’m Mark McNee the EMEA Director for Frontline, based in Scotland in the UK, I look after Frontline business and clients mostly in the UK but also Ireland, some other bits of Europe and the UAE. I’ve worked in UK Accounting for over a decade between BPO’s, Accounting Firms and Accounting Tech’s like Intuit & Dext.
I have a pretty light-hearted style of writing, I tend to write like I would speak so expect a few dad jokes and a bit of fun thrown in amongst my take on what’s happening in UK accounting, Outsourcing & Offshoring, Accounting Tech and of course what we are up to at Frontline Accounting.
May 2024 saw more than 450 Frontline staff and clients gather in Subic Bay for our 2024 Team Trip and read on for why these events are so well received and so important for staff and clients!
A Spectacular Gathering at Whiterock Beach Resort
If you are a Frontline client or if you’ve been following our content for a while, you’ll know that May is when we do the Frontline team trip. These events are a huge undertaking, a massive amount of organisation goes into them, last year based on numbers we decided to split the event into 2 events, the Aussie shift which has predominantly been the biggest and the UK & US shift together. This year though, we were able to get our hands on a bigger resort!
So, on 24th & 25th of May 2024 we had over 450 staff & clients (still only half the team as many staff are now back to visiting their clients internationally!) converge on Whiterock Beach Resort in beautiful, scenic Subic Bay 2 hours north of Manila.
A Good Start
This is now my 5th trip to Manila and whilst I always look forward to my trips to see the team, this one began on a real high note with a nice little upgrade to business class. This set the tone for another great trip to Manila. This is definitely the way to travel!
The Whiterock Experience
Frontline put on a fleet of coaches for the staff and clients to get from the Frontline office in Manila to Subic Bay with ease and comfort.
Arriving at Whiterock Beach Resort, the beauty of Subic Bay is in stark contrast to the concrete jungle and hustle and bustle of Manila, makes way for the actual rainforests and mountains of the north. The resort’s beaches, lush greenery, and ambiance provided the perfect setting for our event. Walking into the reception hall it really gave a great sense of the scale Frontline has grown to. With over 450 staff & clients in the atmosphere was electric with excitement.
Building Bonds Through Fun
It's great to get everyone together and relax but this is a work event so the real point of these events is to build bonds with hundreds of colleagues and clients. The reception event was full of laughs and as always, the karaoke was in full swing by the end of the night.
It was heartening to see everyone, from seasoned professionals (the Filipinos are pretty much all pro’s 😆) to new team members & clients, let their hair down and sing their hearts out. These moments truly highlighted the camaraderie that defines The Frontline Accounting, hashtag #FAmily. The laughter and shared memories from these sessions will resonate with us for a long time.
Our team-building events are nothing short of spectacular. Designed to challenge and inspire, these activities foster a real sense of unity and cooperation. Whether it was navigating obstacle courses or participating in creative problem-solving tasks, each event emphasized the importance of teamwork and collective effort.
The real great thing to see was the Frontline staff taking the lead in the events, unafraid to put themselves forward to lead – Just what we need in our offshore teams!
Client Engagement and Insights
A great part of the event was that we finally got to commence our video interviews and testimonials. I’ve been looking forward to this for quite some time as our clients love us and we really want to shout about it!
This initiative aims to capture the experiences and insights of our clients, we’ve worked with 100’s of accounting firms globally who have all experienced the same challenges that you have and hearing how they have overcome them and progressed to build successful offshore teams.

Looking Ahead
For those of you that missed out this time, don’t fret!
We are already gearing up for our next big gathering in Manila for the Christmas party in November 2024.
It promises to be another spectacular event, filled with even more opportunities for bonding, and celebrating at the favourite time of year for Filipinos (seriously, Christmas is BIG in The Philippines!).
